Local Schools

School-age children in Rio Dell attend the Eagle Prairie elementary (K-5) and Monument middle schools (grades 6-8), located on Center Street.  They are bussed to Fortuna High for grades 9 through 12.  For more information, call the school district office at 707.764.5494.  Features include  a music program, after-school intervention for math and reading, after-school homework help, arts, enrichment and activities.  There is an athletic program which includes coed volleyball team, boys and girls basketball, cheer leading and a track and field team.

In Scotia, children attend the Scotia Union School District, which consists of kindergarten through Grade 8 at the  Stanwood A. Murphy elementary school, at 417 Church Street.  Students go by bus to the Fortuna Union School District, 10 miles away, for grades 9 through 12.  For more information, call the school district office at 707.764.2212.
