The Chamber of Commerce will remain closed to business for the foreseeable future in order to protect the health of the community and to comply with requests to shelter in place.
Our monthly board meeting, scheduled for April 3, will be conducted by the board through online communications.

Wind Farm Update, December 2019
The Humboldt County Planning Commission voted not to approve the windfarm proposal. Terra-Gen is appealing and the matter is scheduled to go to the Board of Supervisors Dec. 16. Opponents, which includes the City of Rio Dell and the Town of Scotia LLC, are gathering signatures on a petition and planning a march from the Winema Theater in Scotia to Rio Dell City Hall on Sat., Dec. 14.
Wildwood Days – 2019
Wildwood Days will be Aug. 2-4 this year in Rio Dell. Most of the activities are managed by the Rio Dell Volunteer Fire Department and details can be found on the Facebook page the department manages, which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/Wildwood-Days-154865577904540/

Friday night there will be Kids’ Night with talent show, soap box derby races, a bounce house and fire truck rides. DJ’s Burger Bar on Wildwood will have its annual Ernie Cannady Car Cruise at 5:30 p.m. with the traditional barbeque dinner and live band in the parking lot. Later there will be a street dance with the band Redline.
Saturday and Sunday will be the men’s and women’s softball tournaments, vendor booths, library book sale and bocci. Saturday noon is the parade. That night is a street dance with the band, The Remedy.
Sunday will be the car/motorcycle show and shine in front of city hall on Wildwood Avenue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., run by Mary Burns. Call her at 707.599.9621 for more information or an application.
At noon, Scotia Band will perform and there will be the annual firefighters’ dinner in the park followed by a silent auction.
Join the Wildwood Days Parade 2019
The Chamber of Commerce will once again produce the Wildwood Days parade, the theme of which is honors the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage. The sponsor for the parade is Fidelity National Title Company of Eureka which will provide funds for prizes, as well as other expenses.
There will be three categories, Best Theme-Related Entry, Best Vehicle Entry and Best Overall Entry, for which entrants may compete for a prize. Participation is free and open to all, whether or not groups/individuals choose to follow the theme or not.
